Behind this half-exotic, half-English name hides a traditional culinary specialty from the Hawaiian archipelago. “Poké” means “cut into pieces,” and the word “bowl” is the same as in English.

The name itself already hints at the ingredients.

Since the 1970s, Western culture—starting with the USA and always eager for exotic cuisine—has adapted this “exotic starter” in many ways. In Hawaii, edible seaweed and candlenuts (nuts of the kukui tree, Hawaii’s official state tree) complete the mix of fruits, vegetables, and freshly caught marinated fish.

With the sunny season just around the corner, these colorful salads bring a taste of sunshine straight to our plates—or, in this case, our bowls.

This workshop is a chance to discover clever pairing tips, surprising sauces, and easy marinade recipes, so you can recreate these new-style, budget-friendly mixed salads at home.

Book your ticket to Hawaii by signing up for one of these two delicious workshops.

Your apron—if you have one—will serve as your Hawaiian shirt.
