"Tulsi" is the Hindi name for "holy basil" or "tulsi basil", a wild Indian plant.
For a long time, Ayurvedic medicine has recognized it as the "Queen of Plants" for its benefits.
While increasing adaptability to stress and endurance, it would soothe the body and mind. This unconventional and often criticized medicine is considered a pseudo-medicine by the scientific community.
However, this plant is widely consumed in India and often replaces tea.
I was seduced by the flavors of this basil to marry it with the white tea "White Peony" (Bai mun tan) composed only of the buds of the first two leaves of a stem of Camelia chinensis.
The sweet flavor of this delicate tea reveals that of tulsi, an aromatic cocktail of lemon, mint, common basil and anise.
White tea is low in theine, this stimulant absorbed slowly by the body unlike caffeine.
To eliminate it from your infusion, simply throw away the first water from your teapot obtained after 2 minutes.
To avoid creating an uncomfortable bitterness, remove the leaves from your teapot.
My scented tea "Tulsi" is a pleasant tea for the morning. Its delicacy and aromas soothe to face a day of work. Some will appreciate it at lunch with a light meal.
