Ingredients
Organic Gunpowder green tea from China "Temple of Paradise", organic plants and spices (eucalyptus leaf, lemongrass, coriander seed, lemon peel, ginger), kororima (Aframomum corrorima), natural yuzu flavoring.

A bit of history
The tradition of Christmas tea is centuries old.
It is composed of spices, tea, and sometimes citrus fruits.
The tradition of drinking flavored tea was born in England during the reign of Queen Victoria.
Russia and Germany are associated with this tradition, as it is common to drink mulled wine or spiced tea to protect against the harsh winter weather.
In the 1930s, the "Temperance League" served flavored tea during the holiday season to further its cause of keeping thousands of working-class people away from alcohol consumption.
It wasn't until 1980 that France discovered Christmas tea, marketed for the first time by the Compagnie Coloniale.

The Gunpwder green tea
I chose the Chinese green tea with small rolled leaves, "Temple of Paradise" which China calls "tea pearls."
Its production originated in Zhejiang Province, an eastern coastal region of China, and dates back to the 7th century AD.
Maghreb countries import it as a base for mint tea.
A quality Gunpowder tea can be recognized by the shine of its leaves rolled into small balls.
This indicator informs the consumer of the tea's youth, giving it a smooth infusion and a delicate flavor.

My Christmas green tea recipe
I chose the Chinese green tea with small rolled leaves "Temple of Paradise," also called "Gunpowder," to wish you a Happy New Year from your first taste.
Enjoy the freshness of eucalyptus combined with the citrus flavor of lemon peel and yuzu enhanced with yuzu seeds. Kororima, an African plant called "false cardamom of Gabon."
By savoring this flavored tea, you may be promoting your renal circulation thanks to polyphenols, organic molecules found in the plant kingdom.
Caffeine stimulates alertness and attention, and the medicinal properties of spices have long been known in pharmacopoeia.

How to prepare your "Happy New Year" tea?
Heat water between 85° and 90°C, rinse by pouring a little water and discard this first infusion.
Moisten to the level of the tea in the filter of your teapot and let it infuse for 2 minutes or 3 minutes if you like the bitterness.
Heat a little less water but at the same temperature and let it steep for another 2 minutes. You will enjoy the flavors that are still present.
Repeat your infusion!
Remove the tea at the end of preparation, then heat a little less water but at the same temperature.
Let it steep for another minute to enjoy the flavors that are still present.
My Christmas tea is enjoyed for breakfast and in the afternoon with delicious filled chocolates.
