A bit of history
Humans are believed to have used salt more than 7,000 years ago, and this discovery may have allowed for a new way of preserving food.
Its rarity made it a currency of exchange or remuneration. The word « wage » the Roman "salarium," itself derived from "sal," was the "payment for work or service rendered" given to legionnaires in addition to their wage.
The Celts and Germans knew perfectly how to preserve all kinds of foods, including herring and pork, which we still salt today.
The tradition of flavored salt is more recent. Herbs or aromatic seeds were added to the meals of Swiss or Austrian soldiers on campaign or at war, adding variety to their meals.
These same soldiers passed this recipe on throughout Europe and beyond.
In Bulgaria, "Sharena Sol," or "colored salt," graces dining room tables or flavors dishes. Its color comes from paprika and flavored with spices.
The blue traces of the crystals are due to the presence of sylvinite, a mineral and a very ancient marine rock from a sea that disappeared millions of years ago.

What's in my flavored table salt?
This aromatic blend is based on a rock salt with azure blue reflections, Persian blue salt.
Persian blue salt is extracted from the oldest salt mines in the world in the rocky Semman Mountains of Iran, the ancient kingdom of Persia.
Surprise your taste buds and your guests with this crunchy, wine-colored salt.
The slight acidity of hibiscus enhances the subtle, fruity flavor of blackcurrant.

How do I use my Winemaker's Flavored Salt?
Its primary use is for the table and your meals. Don't use it for cooking food, but rather to add salt at the last minute on your plate. Its crunchiness is useful for adding extra flavor to your dish.
Add much less salt than usual when cooking and present the flavored salt at the table to give your guests a choice.
Salt is necessary for our health, but not excessively. A pinch of flavored salt on grilled or barbecued meat is a treat.
Offer it when presenting your cheese platter. Curious guests will be sure to try a new flavor on their cheese.
